Rahim Khudabux • Director for the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce’s Board

Rahim “The Dream!” is the GM and Owner of Max Furniture a locally owned and operated furniture store specializing in Canadian Made and good quality furniture for your home or office. Max Furniture has been in Victoria since 2008 and will be expanding to a new location in February of 2020!

Graduating from the University of Victoria in 2007, Rahim has owned and operated 4 businesses in Victoria and loves to call it home. Rahim has worked closely with the Chamber since his business career started in Victoria and he served as the Mingle Lead for two years on the Prodigy Group Committee. Rahim was the first Prodigy committee member to be elected onto the Chamber Board of Directors in 2018 and he also served as Chair of the Ambassador Committee. Rahim enjoyed his time on the Chamber board as he wanted to ensure that the voice of business is heard in the region from ALL sizes of businesses. Rahim has also served on the Think Local First Board and has hosted countless fundraisers and community events at Max Furniture to help better our local and global societies. In 2020, Rahim won the Chamber Member of the Year Award from the Chamber of Commerce.

Involving himself in the community, hosting various fundraisers and community events at the Max Furniture location, giving back and attending virtually every event he can—Rahim “The Dream” prides himself on business development, community support, dance-offs at the Harbour Cats games and mentorship (being mentored by Al Hasham) as those are the reasons he is able to be successful in business.

Rahim lives in Victoria and enjoys spending his family time with his close friends, wife Rayyann and new born baby Taya.

Al Hasham •  Past Chair for the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce’s Board

Al is the owner of Maximum Express, a local family owned and operated courier, freight and logistics company with offices in Victoria and Vancouver. He has nearly four decades in the courier business, with deep expertise on moving goods within Greater Victoria as well as on and off Vancouver Island.

Al is also an owner of Max Furniture, which he started in 2008. He has always made time to support the local community, volunteering with the BC Cancer Foundation, The Mustard Seed food bank and others and mentoring emerging business leaders such as through The Chamber’s Prodigy Group.

Al is the Board Liaison to The Chamber’s Prodigy Group and has served on The Chamber’s Board since 2010.

Al and his companies support a large number of charities, non for profits and community events through any given year in Victoria. Al has also been on the Chamber Board of Directors and was the Chair for 2 years. He also was the Campaign Cabinet Chair for the United Way for 2 years. Giving back to the community has always been a huge philosophy for Al and as long as he is in business he promises to give back!
